If you want to keep your notes on OneNote protected, you can add a password to your notebook section. This is particularly helpful if you are using OneNote to keep a journal or a diary. Here are the steps to password protect your OneNote notebook section.
If you’re using a mobile device, download and install OneNote, and log in if necessary. Press down on the folder section you’d like to add the password to, then tap the Password button. This button looks like a padlock towards the bottom of the screen just above the Sticky Notes section. From there, click the Protect This Section option. To remove the password later, click on the Password button again and select Remove Password.
If you’re using a desktop, open OneNote and click on the notebook section you’d like to add the password to. Next, click the Review tab at the top of your screen, then click the Password button. Set your password and click OK. If you ever want to remove the password, click on the Password button again and select Remove Password.
Adding a password to protect your OneNote notebook section may seem like a hassle, but it’s worth it for the added security. This feature is especially handy for those who use OneNote to store sensitive information.
